More percolators mean smoother hits but more drag and more to clean. Many people prefer a single good perc for daily use.

How to choose scientific glass
- Wall thickness: sizes like 50x5mm mean a 50mm tube with 5mm walls. 5mm is the everyday standard; 7mm and 9mm are heavier and more durable.
- Beaker vs straight: beakers are more stable and hold more water; straight tubes clear faster.
- Joints: most scientific bongs use 18mm or 14mm female joints; match your bowl and downstem.
