PAX battery life varies by model. The PAX 3 runs about 8 to 10 sessions per charge (roughly 90 minutes of continuous use), the PAX Mini runs 6 to 8 sessions, the PAX Plus runs 8 to 10 sessions, and the new PAX Flow extends to 10 to 12 sessions thanks to a larger 3500mAh battery. Charging takes 90 minutes from empty using the included USB-C cable for newer models or the magnetic charger dock for the PAX 3. Battery longevity over the device lifespan is roughly 300 to 500 full charge cycles before noticeable capacity drop, which translates to two to three years of daily use. To maximize battery life, store the PAX at 40 to 80 percent charge if you will not use it for several weeks, avoid leaving it in hot cars (Los Angeles dashboards regularly exceed 130 degrees in summer), and charge at room temperature. The PAX 3 is the only current PAX with a user-replaceable battery, sold separately at our Angies Boutique LA shop. The PAX Mini, Plus, and Flow use sealed internal batteries.
PAX vaporizers offer four preset temperature settings: 360 degrees Fahrenheit (low), 380 (medium-low), 400 (medium-high), and 420 (high). For best flavor, use 360 to 380 degrees because this range vaporizes terpenes without burning the more bitter cannabinoids. At 360, expect lighter vapor with maximum strain flavor and a more cerebral effect. At 380, vapor density increases noticeably while flavor stays clean. 400 produces dense vapor with stronger body effect but flavor starts to fade. 420 is the maximum and produces the heaviest vapor with toasty notes, recommended only for finishing a bowl after the lower temps. The PAX 3 and newer models support custom temperature in the PAX Mobile app (Bluetooth pairing), letting you dial in any temperature from 360 to 420 in single-degree increments. Yes, the PAX 3 and PAX Plus support concentrates through the official PAX Concentrate Insert, a small stainless steel cup with a silicone lid that drops into the standard oven chamber. Load 0.1 to 0.2 grams of wax, shatter, rosin, or budder into the insert (do not overload because expansion at vaporization temperature causes leakage), drop into the oven, and use temperature setting 4 (420 degrees) for best results because concentrates vaporize at higher temperatures than flower. The insert produces tasty, controlled vapor in a discreet form factor that no other portable concentrate vape matches for stealth. The PAX 4 and PAX Flow have updated concentrate compatibility documented in the official user manual. The PAX Mini is flower-only and does not support concentrates. Clean the insert after every session with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab because residue carbonizes on the next session and ruins flavor.
