Vaporizers: Dry Herb Vapes, Concentrate E-Rigs, Dab Pens & 510 Batteries
A vaporizer heats flower or concentrate hot enough to release vapor but below the point where it burns, so you inhale vapor instead of smoke. There are four main kinds: dry herb vaporizers for flower, concentrate vaporizers and smart e-rigs for wax, rosin and hash, dab pens and electric nectar collectors for on-the-go concentrates, and 510 batteries for pre-filled cartridges. Angies Boutique, an authorized Puffco retailer in Los Angeles since 1990, carries vaporizers from Puffco, Storz & Bickel, PAX, Dr. Dabber, Focus V, G Pen, Yocan, Lookah, Wulf Mods and STIIIZY.

Which kind of vaporizer do I need?
Start with what you use. If you use flower, you want a dry herb vaporizer. If you use wax, rosin, shatter or hash, you want a concentrate vaporizer: a smart e-rig for the best flavor and water filtration, or a dab pen or nectar collector for portability. If you use pre-filled oil cartridges, you want a 510 thread battery, or a STIIIZY battery for STIIIZY pods. Very few devices do flower and concentrates equally well, so most people pick the device for the material they use most.
What are the best dry herb vaporizers?
Dry herb vaporizers heat ground flower in an oven. Conduction heats the flower by contact with a hot chamber, convection passes hot air through it, and hybrid heaters use both for faster heat-up and denser vapor.
Portable
The Storz & Bickel Mighty+ and Venty are hybrid-heating portables from the German maker of the Volcano, and the Veazy is their compact model; our Veazy vs Venty guide compares them. PAX makes the pocket-size PAX Flow, the PAX FOUR with a hybrid heater, and the PAX Mini. The G Pen Dash+ rounds out the budget end. More in PAX and Dry Herb Vaporizers.
Desktop
The Storz & Bickel Volcano is the classic balloon vaporizer: the Volcano Hybrid fills a balloon or runs through a whip, and the Volcano Classic is the original balloon design, also in a Gold Edition. See all Storz & Bickel.
What are the best concentrate vaporizers and e-rigs?
Smart e-rigs
A smart e-rig heats concentrate in a ceramic or quartz chamber and runs the vapor through water, like a dab rig without a torch. Puffco leads the category: the Peak Pro is the flagship, the New Peak is the simpler classic, the New Proxy is modular and app-connected, the Proxy Core Kit is the glass-free version, and the Pivot is the pocket Puffco. Dr. Dabber makes the Switch 2, a smart e-rig with an induction-heated cup, and the portable Switch GO; Focus V makes the Carta Sport, and Wulf Mods makes the pocket Growler. Compare them in our best portable e-rigs guide, and see Puffco, Dr. Dabber and Focus V.
Portable concentrate vaporizers and dab pens
For dabs on the go, the Focus V Aeris, Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 and Stella, Yocan Black Pocket, Huni Badger Mini Badger, Xvape Vista Mini 2 and Boundless Terp Pen Spectrum cover pocket devices and pens. Our Switch GO vs Aeris comparison helps you choose.
Electric nectar collectors
An electric nectar collector heats a tip you touch directly to the concentrate, with no loading. The Lookah Seahorse Pro Plus, Seahorse 2.0 and Arsenal Gear AR-15 are in stock. More in Nectar Collectors.
Which vaporizer should I buy?
What temperature should I vape at?
Lower temperatures give more flavor and lighter vapor; higher temperatures give denser vapor and use up material faster. Most flower users start around 350 to 390°F and work up toward 420°F. Concentrates run hotter in a quartz or ceramic chamber, commonly 450 to 600°F, and smart e-rigs like the Puffco Peak Pro and Dr. Dabber Switch 2 use preset heat profiles so you can pick a level without guessing. Start low, take short pulls, and go up from there.
How do I clean and maintain a vaporizer?
Dry herb: empty the oven after each session and brush it out; clean screens and mouthpieces with isopropyl alcohol regularly. Concentrate: swab the chamber while it is still warm after each session, and replace atomizers and chambers when the flavor fades; see Atomizers & Chambers, including VOOZR XL upgrades. E-rig glass: clean like any glass with isopropyl and salt, and keep water off the base. Add terp pearls and carb caps for better airflow, and a heated loading tool from Electric Dab Tools. Every part and accessory is in Vaporizer Accessories, and supplies are in Cleaning Supplies.
What should I know before buying a vaporizer?
Match the device to your material: flower, concentrates and cartridges each need a different heater. Parts wear out: chambers, atomizers and screens are consumables, so check that replacements are available for the device you choose. Charging: most current devices charge over USB-C; use the charger and cable the maker recommends. Check the manufacturer's warranty terms for your model before you buy. Sold to adults 21+.
