Dab Rite Digital IR Thermometers: Pro, Go & The Original

Dab Rite makes digital infrared thermometers for dabbing. A Dab Rite sits next to your rig, reads the surface temperature of a quartz banger without touching it, and alerts you with light and sound when the banger cools to the temperature you set, so you dab at the same temperature every time instead of guessing with a timer. The company launched in 2019 and is based in Buffalo, New York.

      • Brand: Dab Rite (a Tempchem, LLC company)
      • From: Buffalo, New York, founded 2019
      • Known for: infrared banger thermometers with an adjustable reading arm, emissivity settings and the Sensor Shield
      • At Angies Boutique: Dab Rite Pro, Dab Rite Go, Dab Rite The Original, and the Dab Rite x Moodmats Pro mat

How does a Dab Rite work?

Quartz holds heat, and the right moment to dab passes quickly while the banger cools. A Dab Rite aims an infrared sensor at the banger and shows its temperature in real time. You heat the banger with a torch, set your target temperature, and the Dab Rite alerts you when the banger reaches it.

Dab Rite builds emissivity settings into its thermometers, so readings stay accurate on clear quartz and opaque quartz. Dab Rite lists accuracy of plus or minus 2 percent and a 1-second response time for the Original and Pro, with a temperature range of 200 to 800°F on the Original and 200 to 700°F on the Pro. The Sensor Shield, a gasketed lens over the sensor, keeps oil and debris out and lets you wipe the front clean.

Dab Rite thermometers are made to read quartz bangers. They are not for any other use.

Dab Rite Pro: the home dab station thermometer

The Dab Rite Pro is the flagship. It has a 10-inch adjustable arm, a full-color screen, four programmable profiles, and the Dunk Alarm, plus light and sound alerts with adjustable volume, built-in emissivity settings and an LED guide light that shows when the sensor is lined up with the banger. It connects to the Dab Rite app for real-time monitoring, custom profiles and cool-down alerts.

Dab Rite Go: arm-free and portable

The Dab Rite Go is Dab Rite's travel thermometer. Instead of a single-point sensor on an arm, it uses a 32 by 24 multi-point IR sensor that reads across the banger surface from 3 to 5 inches away. It has an OLED screen with color-coded readings, three presets (Low, Medium and High), Bluetooth app control, and charges on a magnetic dock or over USB-C.

      Dab Rite The Original

Dab Rite The Original is the thermometer that launched the brand: a 7-inch adjustable arm, the Sensor Shield, light and sound alerts, emissivity settings, an LED guide light, automatic shut-off and a rechargeable battery. Its silicone covers protect the sensor and hold your carb cap.

      Limited editions and collabs

Dab Rite releases limited collabs with artists and musicians, including The Waterboyz, Sugar Magnolia and Wulf Mods editions we have carried. These sell out fast; past editions stay listed so you can see them, and new drops are added when they land.
