• Public transportation
• Within 25 feet of playground
• Beaches and state parks

Flavor Ban: California prohibits the sale of most flavored tobacco products, including flavored e-cigarettes and nicotine vapes statewide. Beginning January 1 2026, only products on the California Unflavored Tobacco List (UTL) may be legally sold; products not on the list are presumed illegal.

Online Sales: Legal with age verification at checkout and adult signature required upon delivery.

Taxes: 12.5% California excise tax plus applicable local taxes on all tobacco and vapor products.

LA County Specific Laws

Los Angeles City: No vaping in parks, beaches, restaurants, bars, or nightclubs.

Can I vape in my apartment?

Depends on your lease. California allows landlords to ban smoking and vaping. Check your rental agreement. Many buildings are now 100% smoke-free including vapes.

Can I bring vapes on planes?

Yes in carry-on only - never in checked bags. No vaping on planes or in airports except designated areas. TSA limits liquids to 3.4oz. International flights have different rules.
