What is Hemper?
Hemper is a smoking-accessories brand founded in 2015 by Bryan Gerber alongside co-founders Ravjot (RJ) Bhasin and Henry Kochhar. The original idea was a subscription model borrowed from cosmetics and shaving-care: a discreet monthly box of smoking essentials delivered to the door, so a customer never had to walk into a shop if they didn't want to. Gerber finished college on May 18, 2015 and shipped the first boxes the following day. The company has since shipped over three million boxes.
The subscription business made Hemper a household name, but it's the glass that made the brand recognizable. Hemper's bongs are its bestsellers, and they sell because of the shapes — a balloon dog, a gummy bear, a Chinese takeout container, a UFO. Each piece takes a familiar pop-culture object and renders it as a functional borosilicate water pipe. The brand now operates under parent company HARA Brands and carries a full range beyond glass: dab rigs, dab tools, pipes, vaporizers, grinders, rolling trays, and accessories.
Angies Boutique received its first Hemper shipment in August 2026. More of the Hemper lineup is on the way — this collection updates automatically as new pieces land.
What is Hemper known for?
Hemper is known for translating everyday pop-culture objects into functional glass. The design language is playful and immediately readable — you know what a Hemper piece is depicting from across the room — but the pieces are engineered as real working water pipes, not display props.
The Balloon Dog series
Hemper's signature piece and the most recognizable shape in the catalog — a glass balloon-animal dog where the ear serves as the mouthpiece and the tail holds the bowl. It's a functional pop-art object that references the balloon-dog sculpture form. Angies Boutique carries two: the Balloon Dog XL Bong (7.6", gold electroplated) and the Sitting Balloon Dog Bong (5.5", iridescent blue).
The Gummy Bear series
A gummy bear rendered in colored borosilicate. On the full Gummy Bear Bong the smoke draws from the bear's ear. Angies Boutique carries the Gummy Bear Peak Top (5.4") — the same design language adapted into a glass attachment for the Puffco Peak.
The UFO series
Flying-saucer forms with vortex percolation. Angies Boutique carries the UFO Vortex Peak Top — a Puffco Peak attachment with a vortex-style perc built into a saucer silhouette.
Character hand pipes
Smaller dry pipes in the same novelty vein. Angies Boutique carries the Ducky Hand Pipe — a 3" borosilicate rubber-duck spoon pipe, the most affordable Hemper entry point in the shop at $29.99.
Beyond what we carry
Hemper's broader catalog includes the Chinese Takeout Bong, the Gummy Bear XL Bong, and a rotating lineup of novelty water pipes, dab rigs, vaporizers, grinders, and rolling trays. Angies Boutique is expanding its Hemper selection — check back or follow the shop for new arrivals.

Where do I start with Hemper?
If you want the signature Hemper piece, start with a Balloon Dog. The Sitting Balloon Dog Bong ($79.99, 5.5" iridescent blue) is the accessible version; the Balloon Dog XL ($119.99, 7.6" gold electroplated) is the statement piece. On both, the ear is the mouthpiece and the tail holds the bowl.
If you own a Puffco Peak or Peak Pro, the Gummy Bear Peak Top and UFO Vortex Peak Top ($79.99 each) bring Hemper's novelty design onto your existing device — the UFO adds a vortex perc.
If you just want to try the brand, the Ducky Hand Pipe ($29.99) is a 3" dry spoon pipe and the lowest-cost Hemper piece in the shop.
What else pairs with Hemper?
Hemper sits alongside other novelty and character-glass brands at Angies Boutique. BigFun! is the closest match — hand-blown food-themed novelty pipes and Puffco attachments (Ice Cream, Sip N Rip, Glizzy, Bubble Bongs). Empire Glassworks brings 120+ sculpted character pieces at the artisan tier. For more Puffco Peak attachments from every brand we carry, see Puffco Peak & Peak Pro Glass Attachments. For the broader bong category, see Bongs.
What should I know before buying Hemper?
Hemper Peak Tops fit the Puffco Peak and Peak Pro — confirm your device before ordering, since Peak Tops do not fit the Puffco Pivot or Proxy. The Balloon Dog bongs use standard 14mm joints, so bowls and downstems from other brands will fit if you want to swap. Novelty glass has sculpted features (ears, tails, limbs) that are more vulnerable to impact than a plain tube — handle and store accordingly. The Balloon Dog XL is gold electroplated; clean it with a mild glass cleaner rather than a harsh soak formula, which can dull electroplated finishes over time.
More Hemper inventory is arriving at Angies Boutique soon. This collection updates automatically as new pieces are added.
