The Peak Bag is a slim soft padded sleeve — think of it as a sock for the Peak Pro that adds shock absorption. Fits the device, maybe the dab tool, very little else. Lives easily in a backpack. The Journey Bag is the full kit case — hardshell exterior, molded foam interior with dedicated compartments for the Peak Pro base, the glass attachment (suspended away from impacts), atomizer swaps, the dab tool, carb cap, isopropyl wipes, cotton swabs and storage jars. The Peak Bag is for getting from home to a friend's place. The Journey Bag is for going on a trip and wanting everything you need for the device in one organized case.

The cases themselves pass TSA security inspection without issue — they're standard luggage hardware. "TSA-approved" usually refers to padlocks (TSA agents have master keys to TSA-approved combination padlocks, so they can inspect without cutting locks). The Pelican 1050 accepts TSA-approved padlocks through the latch eyelets. What TSA scrutinizes is what's inside the case, not the case. Real smell-proof construction substantially reduces odor escape but does not eliminate it indefinitely. Activated carbon liners adsorb volatile aroma compounds; sealed zippers and magnetic closures contain residual molecules. The combination produces a case where dogs and humans cannot detect odor in normal handling. Limits to know: very strong material loaded into a small case eventually saturates the carbon and odor begins to escape; carbon adsorption capacity declines over 6–12 months of daily use; opening and closing the case repeatedly releases the contained air. Approximately 6–12 months under normal daily use before adsorption capacity declines noticeably. Carbon loses effectiveness as it adsorbs moisture, oils and aromatic compounds — there's a finite number of binding sites per gram of carbon. Storage in dry conditions extends life; constant exposure to humid environments shortens it. Signs the carbon is spent: odor escapes the closed case, the liner smells musty rather than neutral, the case retains aroma after airing out. Most users replace the case every 1–2 years; some manufacturers offer replacement liners. Drying the carbon in low heat can partially restore capacity but is not a permanent fix.

Two-layer system. Concentrates go into a stable airtight container — silicone for sticky concentrates, glass jars for less-tacky materials, ideally with a humidity-controlled environment. Yes — hardshell cases are designed for checked airline travel. The Pelican 1050 is small enough for carry-on but rated to survive cargo handling. The Puffco Journey Bag and Proxy Travel Bag are crushproof and survive checked transit. What you cannot check are lithium-ion batteries — including the battery in a Puffco Peak Pro, Proxy, Pivot, Focus V Carta 2 and similar devices. FAA rules require lithium-ion in carry-on only. Solution: pack the device and battery in carry-on (in its hardshell case), check accessories and non-battery hardware. Concentrate and flower legality is independent of case selection and varies by jurisdiction.

Physically it may fit dimensionally but the foam cutouts are molded for the Peak Pro silhouette, not the Carta 2. The device will rattle, the glass attachment will not seat correctly in the foam pocket, and the accessory compartments are sized for Puffco-specific tools. Spot-clean fabric cases with a damp microfiber and mild soap. Most fabric carriers including Dime Bags Omerta, Cookies Trek Roller and the Puffco Peak Bag should not be machine-washed — agitation degrades carbon liners, breaks zipper seals and warps padding. Air-dry only; heat from dryers degrades coatings. For interior odor refresh, leave the case open in dry air for 24–48 hours. For sticky concentrate residue inside, isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab. Hardshell cases (Pelican, Alchemy Jars) wipe clean with damp cloth; the interior foam can be vacuumed.

The Puffco Travel Case for the Pivot folding rig also accommodates the Hot Knife — that's the most common dual-purpose case in the lineup. The Hot Knife is an induction heater used standalone with quartz nails on traditional rigs and travels well in compact hardshell cases.
