A slurper marble is a precision sphere — quartz, synthetic ruby, sapphire, or borosilicate art glass — designed to sit inside a slurper-style quartz banger during a dab. The standard setup is one pillar marble (larger, sits stationary in the dish center) plus 2-3 spinner marbles (smaller, orbit the pillar). When you apply concentrate and cap the banger with a directional carb cap, airflow drives the spinners to rotate. That rotation drags concentrate across the heated dish continuously, eliminating cold-pool zones where oil would otherwise sit unvaporized. The result is more complete oil-to-vapor conversion, more flavor extraction per dab, and a smoother low-temperature dab profile. Slurper marbles solved a specific problem unique to slurper banger geometry — they aren't useful in standard non-slurper bangers, where standard terp pearls do the equivalent job.
Depends on your banger. If you own a slurper-style banger (Toro, MAV, Quave slurpers — identifiable by the slits cut into the dish rim), you need slurper marbles. The geometry is different from standard bangers and standard pearls don't fit or function correctly. If you own a standard quartz banger without slits, you need terp pearls — see Terp Pearls. The two terms get used interchangeably in casual conversation, but the product specs are genuinely different. If you're not sure which banger style you have, send a photo to the shop and we'll identify it.
The standard is one pillar plus 2-3 spinners — three to four total marbles. Some buyers run two spinners for a slightly slower rotation that gives more dwell time per dab; others run three for faster, more even distribution. Beyond four total marbles, you start displacing the airflow volume that drives the spinning, which can reduce rotation speed. Trip A Glass sells 5 and 7-piece sets so you can rotate between configurations or use different counts on different bangers. For a first slurper marble purchase, start with a 3 or 4-piece set and adjust from there.
The standard Ruby Pearl Co Mini Slurper Marble Set ships with one pillar marble and two matched mini spinner marbles in synthetic ruby — the lab-grown corundum material Ruby Pearl Co popularized for the application. Sizes are calibrated for the most common slurper banger range (20-25mm dish diameter). The set is the standard starting point for any new slurper marble user — it's the reference configuration the rest of the market sizes against.
Measure your slurper banger's lower dish at its widest internal point. Common sizes: 20mm dish pairs with a 10-12mm pillar and 5-6mm spinners; 25mm dish pairs with a 12-14mm pillar and 6-8mm spinners; 30mm dish takes a 16-18mm pillar and 8mm spinners; 35mm+ takes a 20-22mm pillar (the Bear Quartz 22mm Marble covers this top end). When in doubt, size pillar to roughly half the dish diameter. Spinners can be smaller without issue but shouldn't be much larger than 8mm.
All three work for normal dab temperatures. Quartz is the most affordable and thermally matched to your banger (since the banger is also quartz). Synthetic ruby (Ruby Pearl Co) is thermally bombproof — melts above 2000°C, completely inert, distinctive deep red. Synthetic sapphire is chemically identical to ruby (both lab-grown corundum) but without the red tint. For premium and visual signature, ruby. For pure function at lower cost, quartz. Sapphire is essentially a visual variation on ruby spec. All three are food-safe and chemically inert at any dab temperature you'll realistically use.
Same protocol as cleaning a banger. After dabs, while the banger is still warm, swab the marbles with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol to remove residue before it carbonizes. For deeper cleaning, remove the marbles from the banger and soak in 91%+ isopropyl alcohol overnight, then rinse with warm water. Quartz and ruby marbles can be torched briefly to burn off heavy carbon, but borosilicate art-glass marbles cannot — keep those to alcohol cleaning only. Never use abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the polished surface — scratched marbles spin less smoothly and lose efficiency.
Both. The Coogi line is fully functional — they spin in a slurper banger like any other marble and they handle normal dab temperatures without issue. The borosilicate art glass holds up to repeated normal-temperature dabbing indefinitely. The reason buyers sometimes treat them as display pieces is that the multicolor Coogi pattern is visually distinctive enough that some collectors want to preserve a clean set in original packaging while running cheaper marbles for daily use. Both approaches are valid. For pure daily-use efficiency, quartz or ruby. For showcase rigs and art-glass collectors, Coogi sets work both functions simultaneously.
Yes — mixing is common. A Ruby Pearl Co pillar with Bear Quartz spinners, or a Trip A Glass spinner mixed with a Ruby Pearl Co pillar, all work fine. The only practical concerns are size matching (the spinners need to fit your dish without crowding the pillar) and material temperature limits (don't mix borosilicate spinners with high-temperature ruby dab work — borosilicate softens at much lower temperatures than ruby or quartz). For most low-temp to medium-temp dab styles, any combination works. Many experienced dabbers end up with a drawer of marbles from different brands and rotate combinations across sessions.
The 25mm slurper is the most common dimension in the market and the Ruby Pearl Co Mini Slurper Marble Set is sized exactly for it. Drop the pillar in the dish center, add the two mini spinners, cap with a directional carb cap, and you're set. For more spinner count, add a third mini spinner — either by buying singles or by stepping up to a Trip A Glass 4-piece. The 25mm setup is the reference configuration for slurper marble use; if you're building a new slurper rig from scratch, this is the configuration to match.
The Mini Slurper Marble Set is the standard reference: synthetic ruby pillar plus matched mini spinners in plain ruby red. The Pokeball Slurper Set applies the same engineering and sizing to a themed color palette inspired by Pokeball — red, white, and black color blocking. Functionally identical. The choice is pure aesthetic: plain ruby for a clean look, Pokeball for the themed collector appeal. Both fit the same standard slurper bangers.
