How to Swap a Peak Top
- Let the rig cool completely. Glass and a hot chamber are a bad combination, and thermal shock cracks borosilicate.
- Lift the old glass straight up. Do not twist or rock it. Twisting stresses the joint where the glass meets the base.
- Check the silicone seal. If the base gasket is worn or gummy with residue, clean it before seating new glass. A tired seal is the most common cause of a poor draw after a swap.
