Curated by the Angies Boutique buyers. Monkeys, bananas, bears and Munny figures from Western Massachusetts flameworker Daniel Coyle, known as Coyle Condenser.
Coyle Condenser is the studio name of Daniel Coyle, a flameworker in Western Massachusetts whose pop-art monkeys, peeled bananas, bad-tempered bears and glass Munny figures are some of the most recognizable work in functional glass. He is the first pipemaking artist to have his own archive in the Rakow Research Library at the Corning Museum of Glass.
Dan Coyle first saw glassblowing in 2003, when he picked up a guitar he had left at a friend's studio and ended up taking a workshop with glass artist Jerry Kelly. He went on to study scientific glassblowing at Salem Community College, graduated in 2006, and worked as a laboratory glassblower for a chemical company for five years before leaving to make pipes full time.
His work is toy-like on purpose. Coyle has said the monkey goes back to his childhood favorite animal, and that turning an object into a pipe lets the owner build a relationship with it until it becomes sentimental. His Munny pieces, glass versions of the blank designer-toy figure, became a series and a self-published book, the Munny Project. His work has appeared in Vice, the Huffington Post and The New York Times, and in 2025 he completed a studio residency at the Corning Museum of Glass.

The Banana Bullet Pendant is a collab with Robert Mickelsen, one of the artists Coyle studied under, and the Monkey Paw Pendant is made with Micro Glass. See Glass Pendants.
The Banana Bubbler with Micro Workshop and the Bearosaurus Plex with Elbo are working pieces in Coyle's banana and bear themes.
Most Coyle Condenser pieces are one of one: the listing shows the actual piece, and once it sells it is gone. Clean heady glass gently with warm, not hot, isopropyl alcohol and fine salt, swirl instead of shaking hard, and rinse with warm water. Avoid sudden temperature changes and abrasive brushes on sculpted details. See Cleaning Supplies.
Coyle Condenser sits alongside other sculptural artists in Heady Glass, including Slum Gold, Chadd Lacy and HOOBS. Browse every maker on Glass Artists.
